
Monument Books was established in Phnom Penh in 1993 and has grown to become the largest chain of bookstores in Cambodia. Today there are 12 stores in six cities throughout Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
In 2008, we diversified our core business by introducing a range of quality educational toys and in-store cafés to make our stores even more attractive to the public. The idea being that people can shop and relax in the one place. We provide a range of in-store events such as book launches, promotional events and story telling and a variety of activities for children.
In 2009, Monument Books introduced NewspaperDirect. This allows us to print, in real time, the daily edition of over 1,200 newspapers from around the world, from 85 countries and in 45 languages. This means our customers can take advantage of a unique service particularly visitors to Cambodia and expats who live in remote areas.
In keeping with our past history of innovation, Monument Books is the sole representative of Pearson Education Asia. This allows us to sell and distribute Pearson educational publications to private language and international schools in Cambodia. To maximize the effectiveness of the ELT development in Cambodia, both Pearson and Monument Books are offering teacher training based on the educational texts to ensure optimum delivery to our customers. In addition, we offer free, independent advice to educational institutions on curriculum materials.
Monument Books is renowned for books in English but also offers a selection of books in a variety of other languages. Our major outlets carry a wide selection of books including and up-to-date range of popular fiction and non-fiction, children books, history of Cambodia and Southeast Asia. Travel, Cookery, Health, Parenting, Self-help, Religion, Children’s Books, Art and Design and general reference books including dictionaries and atlases. Monument Books stocks and sells a wide range of higher education, secondary, primary and ELT texts.
